Hello and welcome to another Side-Quest episode of Talk This! It’s Dangerous to Podcast Alone. On these episodes, we talk about what games we’ve been playing over the past couple of weeks. This episode, we honestly haven’t been playing much. We have truly failed you as video game podcast hosts. Also featuring hype for the new God of War, frustrations about what the date is, and the mysterious food inspection S-Rank.
As always, you can listen to our podcast basically anywhere you want. Check it out on Apple Podcasts, Google Play, or Spotify or head over to our episodes page for even more options.
Iconoclasts
Iconoclasts is a action platformer made by one guy named Joakim “Konjak” Sandberg for PC, Mac, Playstation 4, and Playstation Vita. Play as Robin, a helpful but unlicensed mechanic, living in a world governed by the Concern and ruled by a being called Mother. After Robin is caught by the Concern, she must gain allies and fight back against the oppressive regime. Also she must die a lot against mooks. These stupid mooks.
God of War
God of War is a sequel and re-imagining of the classic God of War franchise that moves the action-adventure to the lands of the Norse. Kratos is back, only now, he is Dad-tos! While trying to master the rage that has lived inside him, Kratos tries to be a father and mentor to his son Atreus as they embark on a quest to spread his mother’s ashes from the tallest mountain peak in the land. So far, reviews give it universal acclaim.
Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is an open world action adventure game and the latest installment in Nintendo’s much-loved Zelda series. After 100 years, a swordsman named Link awakes to finally fulfill his destiny to procrastinate as long as humanly possible on defeating that Calamity Ganon thing. “It’s okay,” says Zelda, as Link runs around in his boxers. “I’ve only been holding him back a hundred years, what’s another twenty?”
Fire Emblem Warriors
Fire Emblem Warriors is a hack-and-slash tactical role-playing game (a bit of an oxymoron, we know) made by Omega Force and Team Ninja for the Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo Switch. During an ordinary day, monsters attack the capital city of Aytolis and royal twins Rowan and Lianna must leave their mother behind. Wow, does that sound familiar to anyone else? In order to prevent calamity from taking over their world, the twins must power up the Fire Emblem with Gleamstones from heroes of other worlds.
Reigns: Her Majesty
Reigns: Her Majesty is a card-swiping game where you play as a queen who treats her kingdom like Tinder. Try to avoid death as long as possible by keeping everyone at just the right level of pissed off. But, while you’re doing that, you must also uncover the secret behind your endless reincarnation and deal with the mysteries of the All-Mother. That can wait until you’ve become the thirstiest queen in all of history though.
