Hello, and welcome to another episode of Talk This! It’s Dangerous to Podcast Alone. This week, we’re talking about SSX and Gris, and, you know what, you go down hills in both of them, so they’re functionally the same game. That’s how that works.
As usual, you can listen to our podcast basically anywhere you want. Check it out on Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, Spotify, and on the Pandora app (or head over to our episodes page for even more options). Or just listen below!
SSX
SSX is a series of snowboarding games from EA, which stands for something like Super Snowboarding eXtreme. That’s not right, but it might as well be. Take control of a snowboarder, race down the mountain, and land tricks for speed boosts or just extra style. Later installments added more game modes and character customization for all your snowboarding needs.
Gris
Gris is a short, beautiful platformer from Nomada Studios following a girl as she attempts to bring color back to her world. It’s an example of why our current genre classifications suck, because I called it a platformer even though that’s probably not calling the right things to mind. Gorgeously animated with a lovely soundtrack, Gris is a sensory experience with an ambiguous story for you to draw conclusions from.
