Side-Quest 55. Blinded by Caffeine

Hello and welcome to another Side-Quest episode of Talk This! It’s Dangerous to Podcast Alone! In this episode, we’ve got a short and sweet one. Believe it or not, this is how long side-quests were supposed to be when we came up with that format. Thank god for Madelyn not playing too many games this time.

As always, you can listen to our podcast basically anywhere you want (including right below!). Check it out on Apple PodcastsGoogle Play, or Spotify or head over to our episodes page for even more options.

Save Data

We’ve been a little busy these past few weeks as evidenced by our lack of much of a Traffic Report, but there’s still been a bit of time for gaming. Emma played The Liar Princess and the Blind Prince and it was fun except for all the times she accidentally killed the prince because of slightly finicky controls. She also finished Tales of Vesperia! Everyone celebrate!

Meanwhile, Madelyn continues to approach the end of Kingdom Hearts 3. Slowly, slowly…

Weather Report

Listen, we’ve probably mentioned it before, but Emma gets tired pretty fast when she’s in a crowd, doing things all day. We’ve got tickets to three days of PAX East, so Emma’s energy meter is going to take a beating. Not that we’re not excited! The question is just whether or not Emma will die by the end of it.

Off-Topic Corner

Outside of Passport to Iron city experience

This episode was recorded together at the Talk This! NYC HQ because Emma came up to visit Madelyn this weekend. They decided to go to Passport to Iron City (the Alita Battle Angel Experience) in order to fulfill a requirement for one of Emma’s classes. While we thought it had some promise, we also thought the whole experience could use some more work from a game design standpoint.

Question of the Fortnight

Pierre Taki's character in Judgement

We’re sort of fascinated by the scandal surrounding Pierre Taki right now, because it just doesn’t seem like something that would happen in the US. With that in mind, we’re wondering what we might do to get our non-existent video games pulled from store shelves. What about you listeners?

Enjoy the episode! We didn’t have a blog for last week’s full episode, but you can find it on the podcast platform of your choice. We talked about Gauntlet and Frostpunk. Look forward to next week’s episode where we’re talking about Braid and Octopath Traveler.
