What goes into audio design in games? How is it different from audio design in anything else like movies or TV? What sorts of functions does sound have within a game? How are these sounds made and implemented into the game? Why aren’t there more games pushing the technique of the audio forward versus graphics?

The Actual Discussion

We talk about our experiences with sound in video games and the many differences in implementation and execution between film sound and game sound. We also go over what makes sound important in games, from immersion to communication and more. There are also some attempts at making sound effects, which are pretty bad. Sorry about that.
