Hello and welcome to another Side-Quest episode of Talk This! It’s Dangerous to Podcast Alone! This week, we talk about photo modes in video games. Do you prefer artsy cam or selfie cam? Do you prefer an artsy selfie cam?
As always, you can listen to our podcast basically anywhere you want. Check it out on Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, Spotify, and Pandora (or head over to our episodes page for even more options). Or just listen below!
Why have photo modes become so prevalent? What makes a good photo mode? Why do people like photo modes in the first place? How can you categorize different photo modes in games? What are some of our favorites? Basically, we want to figure out both the appeal and the utility of photo modes in games as well as talk a bit about our own experiences with them.
The Actual Discussion
We stay on topic and talk about how the Share button helped lead to the advent of photo modes. We also talk about our own experiences with photo modes, and the types of photos we like to take. There’s also some time spent complaining about the inconvenience of moving screenshots to a computer. A whole USB stick! Gosh darn it.
Enjoy the episode! Tell us what you think in the comments or on social media. Make sure to check out last week’s episode and look forward to next week’s where we’re talking about Shin Megami Tensei and Spelunky 2.
Make an effort this week too, if you can.
