What makes a horror game? What different kinds of horror games are there? How can they be categorized by genre or gameplay? Why do players even want to play horror games in the first place? How do you keep a player playing a horror game? Why are some things funny instead of scary?
The Actual Discussion
We talk about our own reasons for not getting much in to horror as a genre, whether as games or movies or anything else. We talk about different strategies for incorporating horror into a game and try to classify the difference between horror and games with horror elements. Also, we try to identify popular horror genres that don’t show up as much in games as in other mediums. Finally – jump scare!
