The Topic

What makes dialogue in games good? What are some of the different types of dialogue that games might have to consider that other mediums don’t? Why does some dialogue get annoying? How do you even manage writing dialogue in games to begin with?

The Actual Discussion

We talk about some of our own personal experience with dialogue in video games and speculate about how many players really skip cutscenes. Madelyn has unreasonable requests for video game writers. Emma has even more. We go through various problems with game dialogue and various solutions to these problems (that also have their own problems). This is talking about talking.

Enjoy the episode! Tell us what you think in the comments or on social media. Make sure to check out last week’s episode and look forward to next week’s where we’re talking about Hotline Miami and Triangle Strategy.
