The Topic

Age of Mythology key art

What are some of the biggest games that use Greek mythology as a basis? Why are we so drawn in Greek mythology over others in the first place? What are some of the advantages of using Greek myths in stories, and what are some of the things to consider?

The Actual Discussion

Hades 2 key art

We go through the big hitters of Age of Mythology, God of War, and Hades while making some pit stops along the way. We notice and discuss the way that most of these games invent a protagonist rather than picking an established figure. Also, we talk about the different interpretation of myths and whether these games could be classified as Greek tragedy.

Enjoy the episode! Tell us what you think in the comments or on social media. Make sure to check out last week’s episode and look forward to next week’s where we’re talking about Monument Valley and Diablo 4.
