What drives the urge to take notes while playing a game? Are there certain games that encourage it more than others? How do different people take notes? What kinds of purposes can notes serve? Is it good when a player feels like they need to take notes, or is it bad? Does it depend?
The Actual Discussion
We talk about our current note-taking practices and how they differ from others that we’ve seen. We also talk about the allure of a note-taking game vs the appeal of making something more like a journal to chronicle an adventure. However, we also admit that we don’t have the patience for such beautiful art projects.
