Hello and welcome to another Side-Quest episode of Talk This! It’s Dangerous to Podcast Alone! In this episode, we’re on the first of our pre-recorded stock of three, although we actually recorded this one last. See if you can tell! We bet you can probably tell!

We didn’t get a chance to start anything new since we were so close to our Japan vacation departure. Instead, Emma returned to Kingdom Hearts 3 for Critical Mode and Madelyn returned to the original Assassin’s Creed. They both involve some messy deaths, just one is botched assassination attempts and the other is being crushed by a bouncing toy pig over and over again.
We talk about the new legislation being proposed in the US for banning loot boxes at games targeted for minors. Since it’s so new, we’ve got some feelings and not a lot of logic. But hey, that’s just part of the charming Talk This! brand. Mostly we wonder how such a law would be enforced and bemoan the fact that the industry is not prepared for this discussion at all.
We swerve way off topic this week since Madelyn is planning to introduce Clickbait Boyfriend to Queer Eye during our long flight to Japan. With that in mind, we look at the shambles of our lives and determine which member we would want to fix it. Somebody please nominate us for Queer Eye. This is a call for help. Madelyn’s apartment is oppressively cozy.
We’ve got a decent amount on the blog this week if you’re a fan of Kingdom Hearts 3. Otherwise, uh, we’ve got a Split Screen. But we put together a joint review of Kingdom Hearts 3 while Clickbait Boyfriend both tried out Critical Mode and continued on his journey through the story.
Editor Emma will take this space to talk about our upcoming schedule as well. We have two pre-recorded episodes which will release on schedule while we are away. That includes the Thief/Days Gone episode for next week and a casual version of our PCA/ACA presentation for the week after. After that, we come back with another full episode, back live at noon on Sundays obviously. You’ll have to tune in next time to find out what games we’ll be talking about then.
Question of the Fortnight
Keeping with the Japan theme, sort of, we talk about which JRPG character we would most want to be our friend. Emma’s answer is somewhat predictable while Madelyn takes her time to decide. How about you? Let us know in the comments or on social media!
Enjoy the episode! Check out last week’s episode where we talked about Dragon Quest and Hades and look forward to next week’s episode where we’re talking about Thief and Days Gone!
