Hello, and welcome to another episode of Talk This! It’s Dangerous to Podcast Alone. This week, we’re talking about Duke Nukem and Katana Zero. There is more talk about butts than there usually is, which could be a positive or a negative.
As always, you can listen to our podcast basically anywhere you want. Check it out on Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, Spotify, and Pandora (or head over to our episodes page for even more options). Or just listen below!
Duke Nukem
Duke Nukem (from the studio now called 3D Realms) started as a series of 2D run and gun platformers before meeting true success as a 3D Doomlike shooter with an engine that allowed for unprecedented player interaction with the environment. And then they toiled away on Duke Nukem Forever for about…oh, fifteen years or so. It was not worth it.
Katana Zero
Katana Zero is a 2019 action platformer from Askiisoft and Devolver Digital. Players take the role of Zero, an assassin plagued by nightmares of his past. Using the powers given to Zero by the drug Chronos, players can control time and try levels again and again until they succeed. Also they can be mean to their therapist. It’s fine, we doubt he’s a real therapist anyway.
