Episode 44. The Assassin’s Blade

Hello, and welcome to another episode of Talk This! It’s Dangerous to Podcast Alone. This week, we’re talking about Assassin’s Creed and Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice. Also, uh, we had a snaffoo with the audio, fair warning. I mean, we recorded this WHILE in Rome and unpacking stuff in Boston, so you should just be thankful for anything, right? Right!?

RIGHT!?

As usual, you can listen to our podcast basically anywhere you want. Check it out on Apple PodcastsGoogle Podcasts, or Spotify or head over to our episodes page for even more options.

Assassin’s Creed

Assassin's Creed video game on podcast

Assassin’s Creed is a series of action-adventure video games set in open worlds through various periods of history. Take on the role of many Assassins throughout history as they war with the Templars and, like, kill some people. I mean, they are still Assasins. The games tie together through a loose story line set in the future with a lot more science-fiction elements. That’s video games for ya, people.

Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice

Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice on the video game podcast

Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice is a hack-and-slash game, heavily steeped in Norse mythology. No, not God of War. Hellblade made a name for itself due to its nuanced portrayal of psychosis through its main character, Senua. The voices in Senua’s head place themselves in the player’s head through binaural audio, and other manifestations of her condition are also integrated into the gameplay. Hellblade was one honored game at the Games for Change Festival 2018.
