Welcome to another edition of Buzz This, our longest running series here on the Talk This blog! We’ve told our life stories, received dating advice, and learned our Overwatch identities…twice! this about ourselves, but now it’s about to get personal. That’s right folks. Buzzfeed is about to tell me my go-to gaming console.
It doesn’t get much more symbolic than this. The Talk This Sisters come from a Playstation family, although we dabble in mostly handheld Nintendo products. If Buzzfeed doesn’t know that, then I may well just lose my faith in their quizzes altogether.
You know it’s an official Buzzfeed Quiz when it has an extra AF title card.
I am pretty bad at Frogger, and absolutely terrible at Donkey Kong, which limits my choices right off the bat. I don’t know if I’m better at this than Pac-Man, but Space Invaders is definitely my favorite of these six. How is it not in our hat?
What does it mean to be an alternative gamer? A rebellious gamer? Buzzfeed is forcing me to ask the big questions here.
Obvious answer: Competitve. Overcooked almost destroyed my relationship because I insisted on getting three stars on every single level.
I’ve never owned a Sega gaming console. I’m not actually 100% sure I’ve ever played on one. Given that their most recent gaming console was released in 1998 and discontinued in 2001, I think I can be forgiven for this*. I just talked on this week’s episode about how it’s a shame the history of video games is so inaccessible, so I think I need to pick Sega’s first system, the SG-1000.
*Yes, I know the Genesis was back on the market as of 2016, but those were the dark ages when I barely thought about video games anymore. Thanks again for rekindling the love, Talk This!
This heavily depends on what type of system I’m playing on (which I realize is probably the point). On my computer, I’m usually either in the simulation world of Stardew Valley, or the strategy realm with Civilization. However, I’m a gaming console girl at heart, and on my PS3 and Switch, I find it hard to resist a good RPG.
Oh, Buzzfeed. Naively assuming that my apartment is large enough to contain a couch that is not a de facto storage area for my backpack/clothes/books/random crap. As you can kind of see in the Clickbait Boyfriend mini-vlogs, most of the gaming at Talk This NYC HQ takes place on my bed. However, when I’m back at DC-Metro HQ (and Philly HQ), the couch it is!

Obligatory plug that Crash Team Racing is the superior karting game. I haven’t played Mario Kart in years (maybe I’ll get the Switch one if I ever decide to host a party in “too small to have a functional couch” Talk This NYC HQ), but Wario looks like a winner with his stylish mustache.
The moment of truth! What gaming console is my go-to?
No, no, no, no, no, no, no. Buzzfeed, you beautiful fool. Literally any other console would be acceptable, but never the Xbox. Never. The. Xbox.
